Gorgeous baby things♦

With the baby due in a few weeks I am getting more and more broody for tiny baby things and am in love with these slippers from Woolybaby.

These look great from
Etsy seller.

2009 Advent Calendar♦

Made a start by making a big bit of felt then cutting up to make smaller bags (have yet to sew them up.)

I have added some needle felting to some of them. Here is a sample of them.

I think I am going to hang them on a wooden frame but need to go to our workshop to see what timber we have.
Here is the felt I have made for the backing but I love it so much it seems a waste to use as backing for the bags. Not sure what else I could use it for though lol.

2008 Advent calendar

I made a twig tree last year for Elizabeth. There were birds all over it with presents hanging below. I think this year Elizabeth is more excited about the tree than christmas itself. Inspired by theredthreadblog.

Found a fantastic flickr group of handmade decorations thanks to Ali at craft matters.
Here are a few of my favourites:-

First Felting experience

Well E and I had a go today, very successful.

She made a treasure box today which actually didn't have enough felt around so is now a purse. Instructions here. http://kneek.wordpress.com/2007/02/05/return-to-felting/.

Found some good instructions on youtube but everyone seems to make it differently.

I have this book from the library which is great and has some good ideas in here

I have also bought some silk to print on so might add some photos to some felt for christmas decorations.

How cool is it to be able to do all this stuff as I am on maternity leave
